means to fight terrorism in Quetta

QUETTA: As many as 20 barriers have been fixed in different parts of the provincial metropolis to prevent terrorism and other heinous crimes including the incidents of target killing.
This was informed during a meeting on law and order situation here the other day. The Provincial Secretary for Home and Tribal Affairs, Akbar Hussain Durrani presided over the meeting.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police Quetta, Abdul Razzaq Cheema and other concerned high ups from the Home Department and law enforcement agencies were in attendance. Certain decisions were made to maintain law and order in the metropolis.
It was informed that the gangs, involved in the terrorism including target killing, have been identified. As many as seven terrorists have also been arrested.
It was decided to use conventional and unconventional methods to combat the terrorism and incidents of target killing in Quetta city.
The DIG Quetta briefed the meeting about the steps taken and being taken for maintenance of law and order as well as prevention of terrorism and other crimes in Quetta.
Addressing the meeting, the Secretary Home said that barriers have been installed at 20 different points of the city.
He said that the barriers would be closed in case of any incident of terrorism and target killing so that the terrorists may not escape.
The search operation would also be carried out for arrest of terrorists immediately after the terrorism act, he told further.
The personnel of law enforcement agencies would also be deployed in different parts of the city to avert any untoward incident while the patrolling would also be made in this regard.
The Secretary Home said that although the ban on pillion riding has been lifted, but still snap checking of the motorcycle riders would be carried out by the Police and Frontier Corps.
He pledged that we would do everything possible to prevent terrorism and maintain law and order situation in the province in general and in Quetta in particular.
We would not avoid a thorough operation in the city to maintain law and order if need arises, he maintained.
