Imposition of withholding tax:
HQ City Report
QUETTA: The Markazi Anjuman Tajran Balochistan (MATB) and Quetta Chamber of Commerce have announced to observe shutter down strike on August 5 against the withholding tax imposed on the transactions of banks, all over the province.
This announcement was made by President of the MATB, Abdul Raheem Kakar and President of the Chamber of Commerce, Musa Khan Kakar while addressing a joint press conference here at the Press Club the other day.
They described imposition of withholding tax against the interest of the public and the traders. Rather they said that it is also not good for the economy as the traders are trying to find alternative means for banks transactions.
They said that the traders community would show their unity against the withholding tax by observing successful shutter down strike on August 5 in Quetta and other parts of the province.
It may be mentioned here that the traders’ community has been resisting the withholding tax since its imposition.
