PIA’s pre-Hajj flights’ operation to begin from Quetta on 19th

QUETTA: The pre-Hajj flights operation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is scheduled to commence on August 19 from Quetta.
According to the sources of PIA, the first flight would take off in the wee hours of August 19 carrying over 300 intending pilgrims to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The sources said that over 9, 208 intending pilgrims would go for pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia from Quetta.
The Hajj flights operation would complete on September 17, 2015 from Quetta, the sources maintained.
While the maiden Hajj flight would depart for the holy land from Quetta on August 19, the first flight from Karachi left for Jeddah on Sunday morning.
Similarly, the first flight from Islamabad will leave on Monday (today).
As many as 71,684 pilgrims would perform the religious obligation this year under the government scheme and the same number under the private scheme.
Besides PIA, Shaheen Air, Air Blue and Saudi Airline have arranged additional flights to accommodate the pilgrims.
Out of total 145,180 intending pilgrims, 28,799 will depart for Saudi Arabia from Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, 29,587 from Lahore, 37,010 from Karachi, 8,338 from Multan, 2,346 from Sialkot, 2,874 from Faisalabad, 665 from Rahim Yar Khan, 1,153 from Sukkur, 25,200 from Peshawar and 9,208 from Quetta.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has been vaccinating the pilgrims free of charge.
The pilgrims have already been intimated about their flight schedules on their given addresses.
