QUETTA: The Advisor to Chief Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony, Mir Muhammad Khan Lehri has stated that the religious leaders played important role in freedom movement and rendered sacrifices in this regard.
Heavy responsibility also rests with shoulders of the religious leaders in elimination of terrorism and sectarians from the country, maintained Lehri while addressing a ceremony held in connection with Husne Qirat and speech competitions here the other day.
Also present on the occasion were the Secretary Religious Affairs, Syed Abdul Manan Agha, Additional Secretary besides the religious leaders, Qaris and Naat khawans.
The Advisor to Chief Minister maintained that our forefathers had rendered great sacrifices for freedom of the country, and now we have to play our role to protect it from the anti-state elements. In this regard, the role of Ulemas is also vital, he stressed.
Collective prayer was also offered for the country’s stability and prosperity.
