Abdul Wahid wins Jashne Azadi Marathon Race

Abdul Wahid won the Marathon Race held in connection with the Jashne Azadi Balochistan Mini Olympic Games here the other day.
Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Waqas remained second and third in the Marathon Race respectively.
Rahimullah got fourth position.
The Race was started from the Railway Hockey Chowk and terminated at the same point with the route set for participants i.e., Benazir bridge, Spinny Road and Sabzal chowk.
Muhammad Sadiq Khilji, Raud Atta Advocate, Atta Muhammad Kakar (Pride of Performance), Olympian Abdul Qayum Minhas, Sanaullah Khilji, Rana Shahzad and Muhammad Ibrahim were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Atta Kakar said that the basic objective behind organizing the Jashne Azadi sport event is to engage the youth in healthy activity and inculcate the national spirit and patriotism in them.
The youth must aware about the great sacrifices rendered by our forefathers for freedom and securing an independent state, he said.
Other speakers also highlighted importance of the Independence Day and its celebrations. They said that we should not forget that independence is a great blessing and we must strive for the country’s stability and sovereignty.
