Ziartwal says Provincial Ministers also asked
to remain present during assembly sessions
for answering questions related to their
respective departments / ministries

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has directed to the Law and Services and General Administration Departments to ensure attendance of secretaries of all the provincial government departments in the provincial assembly sessions.
Moreover, the Provincial Ministers have also been asked to remain present in the assembly sessions for answering questions related to their respective departments so that the questions posed during the question hour by the opposition may not be postponed.
This was stated in an official statement issued here by the Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Information, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal here the other day.
He said that all the provincial Secretaries should provide necessary assistance to their respective Ministers with regard to the questions related to their departments during assembly sessions.
The Minister Law and Parliamentary Affairs said that it is parliamentary right of the opposition to pose questions in the assembly while it is responsibility of the government to answer the questions and satisfy them.
Mr. Ziaratwal also said that the present coalition government has formed the standing committees of the provincial assembly and made them effective.
These committees have been formed after at least 10 years, he mentioned. The chairman and members of the committees were also selected, he added.
As many as four bills have also been handed over to the concerned committees for legislation, the Minister Law and Parliamentary Affairs said.
He said that we consider the positive criticism as ornament of democracy and accept it wholeheartedly.
The recommendations being or to be made for bringing improvement in our performance would be considered seriously, he assured adding pledged that the provincial government would continue to work for well being and welfare of the masses remaining in its limited resources.
He also said that the provincial government would not avoid from taking steps for welfare of the masses.
He said that we have ensured improvement in education and health sectors in our very limited resources. While on the other hand, establishment of six new universities and three medical colleges is also not a less important thing, he noted while adding that still we would remove the shortcomings in this regard.
Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal also referred to the law and order in the province saying that we are living in a conflict zone, still the government brought improvement in the law and order up to 65 percent during the last two years.
The law and order as well as water issue is included in priorities of the provincial government, and we are endeavouring to resolve the related issues, he maintained.
Moreover, the planning is also in progress to improve state of the agriculture, livestock, fisheries, forest, industries and Mineral sectors, he said.
