Deputy Mayor, other high ups concerned over poor sanitation

QUETTA: The Sanitation Committee of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC) met with the Deputy Mayor, Muhammad Younas Baloch in the chair the other day.
The meeting, which was attended by Chairman of the Committee’s Zone-I, Haji Fakhruddin, Chairman of Zone-II, Yasin Bangulzai, besides councilors of different areas as well as officers of the Sanitation section, discussed the issues of sanitation and situation of cleanliness in the metropolis.
The Deputy Mayor and Chairman of both zones of the Sanitation Committee expressed their deep concern over poor situation of cleanliness in the city.
They said that all available resources would be mobilized for bringing improvement in the current situation.
The Deputy Mayor particularly warned the sanitation staff that those committing negligence would not be spared.
He said that the people of Quetta have given mandate to resolve the issues and we would surely come up to their expectations.
Younas Baloch asserted that the sanitary staff performing well would be duly encouraged while the negligent employees would be taken to task.
It was decided to ensure attendance of the sanitary staff daily. As per the decision, there would be attendance of sweepers at 07:00 AM and 02:30 PM daily.
The concerned Sanitary Inspectors were also made bound to inform about absence of the sweepers so as to take action against them.
The salary would not be released to the sweepers without verification of the councilor of the area on the attendance sheet, it was decided further.
The councilors, who attended the meeting were included: Muhammad Hussain, Masoom Khan, Abdul Salam Barech, Khuda Bakhsh Lehri, Naseemullah Achakzai and Nisar Shah.
