Chief Secretary visits office of BPSC, admires functioning

QUETTA: Chief Secretary, Saifullah Chattha visited the office of Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) the other day.
The Chairman, BPSC, Justice ® Mehta Kailash Naath Kohli and the members received the Chief Secretary on his arrival in the Commission’s office.
A briefing was also conducted by the Chairman BPSC about overall working of the Commission. He informed that a total of eight advertisements were issued for 1802 vacancies after his taking over as the Chairman BPSC on April 23, 2015.
A total of 11,000 candidates had submitted applications for the posts advertised. As many as 9,164 candidates appeared in 175 examinations / MCQ tests conducted under the arrangement of the Commission, he informed further.
Out of them, 1,002 successful candidates appeared in the interviews. The BPSC has so far recommended 314 successful candidates for posting while the process of making recommendation for posting of other candidates is in progress, he informed further.
The members of the Public Service Commission also briefed the Chief Secretary about functioning of the Commission, its procedure and other related matters.
The Chief Secretary on the occasion assured that he would extend every possible cooperation to the Commission for resolving its problems and improving its performance further.
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary also got himself acquainted about performance of the Commission from the candidates who had turned up there for the interviews and tests being conducted for different vacancies.
However, the candidates expressed their trust and satisfaction over functioning of the Commission.
The Chief Secretary also applauded the ongoing work and performance of the Commision.
