QUETTA: Four government primary schools of Quetta district, which were closed for at least one to three years, have been made functional.
This was informed by the Secretary Secondary Education, Abdul Saboor Khan Kakar while chairing a review meeting of the monitoring teams held here the other day.
The progress of the monitoring teams formed for review of the state of education and facilities available in the educational institutions was reviewed in the meeting.
While four closed schools have been made functional, a new primary school has also been opened under the Educational Emergency already declared in the province, mentioned the Secretary Education while speaking in the meeting.
He on the occasion mentioned that the Government Primary School Muhammad Khan Muhammad Hassani, Mian Ghundi was closed since October 2013 while the Government Primary School Mulla Fazil Shah, Baleli was non-functional since October 2014. Similarly, Government Primary School Muhammad Shahi Town Sariab and Government Primary School Zahir Lumar Kuchlak were closed for 2012 and 2014 respectively, he maintained.
Abdul Saboor Kakar on the occasion mentioned that the Education department is no more a neglected department, rather special attention is being given towards state of educational institutions all over the province, he added.
He asserted that the teachers drawing salaries and incentives from the government would have to perform and discharge their duties.
Otherwise, there is no room for them in the department, he warned adding that negligence and carelessness would not be tolerated in education sector at all.
He also said that the disciplinary action is being taken against the negligent and careless teachers and other staff of the department.
Not only there is focus on attendance of the teachers in their respective institutions, but their standard is also being monitored, he noted.
The Secretary said that it is earnest desire and effort of the provincial government to impart quality education in the educational institutions operating in the public sector.
He particularly appreciated the services of Deputy District Education Officer, Chiltan Town, Gul Muhammad Kakar for the cause of education in Quetta.
He assured that the officers demonstrating good performance in education department would be encouraged.
