Secretary PTA sees improvement in condition of local route buses

QUETTA: The Secretary Provincial Transport Authority (PTA), Abdul Khaliq Mandokhail has said that there is a marked improvement in condition of the local buses plying on different routes in the Quetta city than the past.
With improvement in condition of the local route buses, there is also improvement in overall functioning of the transport, stated the Secretary PTA while speaking to the transporters and representatives of the local buses union during inspection of the buses of Baleli and Samungli routes the other day.
Also present on the occasion were the Secretary of Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Amanullah Khan Panezai, Focal Person, Jan Muhammad Muhammad Hassani, Motor vehicle Examiner, Ghous Bakhsh Kurd, Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Javed Ahmed and others.
The Secretary PTA appreciated the transporters for bringing improvement in condition of the local transport.
He mentioned that the process of inspection of the public transport has been continued for last two years on special directives of the Provincial Minister Transport, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail.
He said that the action was taken against the poor conditioned local buses with cooperation of the Traffic Police and Motor vehicle examiner.
The crackdown against such buses is still continued, he maintained. The travelers’ confidence would be restored on the public transport only when their condition would be better, so transporters should focus on bringing more improvement in their transport, he stressed.
The Secretary PTA also advised the transporters and drivers to take well care of the passengers particularly the females, students and the children, who travel through their transport. He hoped that the transporters would do it in the interest of their passengers.
The Secretary PTA along with the Secretary RTA and other concerned high ups inspected the condition of local route buses.
