All Pakistan Pashto Mushaira held

QUETTA: An All Pakistan Pashto Mushaira (poetry session) was held in connection with the Jashne Ziarat the other day.
Provincial Minister for Information and Information Technology, Abdur Rahim Ziaratwal was the chief guest. Deputy Commissioner Ziarat, Abdul Khaliq Mandokhail, District Chairman Ziarat Council, Mir Wais Khan, besides others were also present.
Those who participated in the poetry session and presented their kalam (poetry) were included: Shams Figar and Wahmi Aurakzai from Khyber Pakhtunkhaw as well as poets from Balochistan and other parts.
Addressing the poetry session, the Minister Information said that the poets are our asset and they happen to be the mirrors of the society. They represent the society well so they must be encouraged and motivated to do good in future as well, he stressed.
Ziaratwal on the occasion also referred the big names of the Pashto poetry like Rehman Baba, Khushhal Khan Khatak, Abdul Hameed Baba and others.
These poets are alive in the hearts of the Pashtuns even after a long time, Ziaratwal mentioned further.
Even today, there are several good poets of Pashto language in our homeland, he maintained.
The Minister Information, who also happens to be the Parliamentary leader of Pashtunkhaw Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), said that the present government has announced to hold Jashne Ziarat every year thanks to the Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch.
