QUETTA: The Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, Dr. Shoaib Ahmed Gola has stated that our youth and students are equally talented and had the spirit and passion to earn laurels for the province and the country in every field of life.
They have already proved their mettle in different sports, maintained Dr. Shoaib Gola while addressing the closing ceremony of the Jashne Azadi Sports Festival throw ball competition held under auspices of Balochistan Throw ball Association here at the Ayub Stadium.
The Secretary Sports said the sports activities were limited due to the precarious law and order situation of the province, however, now the situation has been changed. The sports activities have been started in a befitting manner all over the province including Quetta thanks to the efforts made by the present provincial government led by the Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch and the Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Mir Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad Hassani.
He applauded the healthy participation of the female players in the throw ball competition.
He said that he is pleased to see the young players while participating wholehearted in the sports activities.
The Secretary Sports on the occasion assured that similar opportunities would also be provided to the students and other youth.
Earlier, the final of the throw ball competition was held between the Government Degree Girls College Quarry road and Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University.
In final, the Government Girls College Quarry road defeated the SBKWU with two straight sets.
The chief guest announced to give cash prize of Rs. 20,000 for the winning team of the competition. He also announced Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 for the second and third position holder teams respectively.
The veteran sports personality, Atta Muhammad Kakar also distributed prizes among the players.
