QUETTA: As many as 23 Lady Health Workers (LHWs) were placed under suspension in Quetta district on Thursday.
The official sources said that the District Health Officer (DHO) Quetta, Dr. Shah Jahan Panezai suspended the LHWs on the charges of absence from their duties during the anti-polio campaign in the Quetta district.
The LHWs were found absent from their duties during the visit of the senior administrative and Health department officers the other day.
The official sources quoted the senior officers as asserting that the absenteeism of the health workers is not bearable during the polio immunization campaign.
Anyone found absent from duty would have to face the disciplinary action, it was warned further.
