Pakistan to be Polio-free soon, believes Abdullah

QUETTA: The Secretary Information Balochistan, Abdullah Jan has expressed the hope that Pakistan would get the status of Polio-free country soon.
He expressed so during visit of Duki Tehsil of Loralai district the other day. During the visit, he inspected the ongoing national polio immunization campaign being organized in Loralai district as elsewhere in the province and the country.
The Secretary Information on the occasion also administered the anti-polio vaccine to the children.
Assistant Commissioner Duki, Habibullah Kakar, Tehsildar Habibur Rehman Luni and Risaldar Major Muhammad Ali Shadozai were also present on the occasion.
The visiting Secretary Information was briefed about the polio immunization campaign in the area.
She visited different areas and had meeting with the polio health workers and volunteers. During the visit, he also went to a school and a madrissa located in Syed abad area.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that it should be our responsibility to work collectively for eradication of polio in the province.
In this regard, the role of health department, administration, health workers and volunteers is vital, so they have to fulfill their responsibilities with extra commitment and passion, Abdullah Jan stressed adding that every child below five years of age should be vaccinated.
It may be mentioned here that the Secretaries of different provincial government departments had assigned the task of supervision of the vital immunization campaign that was launched on Monday last.
Secretary Information’s visit to Loralai was part of the same. He kept on visiting different areas of the district during the campaign.
