implemented, says Commissioner

QUETTA: The Commissioner Quetta Division, Kambar Dashti has claimed that law and order situation has been improved in the Quetta Division than the past thanks to the concerted and joint efforts made by the law enforcement agencies (LEAs).
He was speaking to the participants of the 103rd National Management Course, who are currently on study tour of Balochistan, here the other day.
Director Staff National Management Course, Rao Manzar Hayat, Additional Commissioner Quetta, Muhammad Qasim Mengal, Deputy Inspector General of Police Quetta, Syed Imtiaz Shah, Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Dawood Khan Khilji, Director General Levies Force, besides the divisional officers of the Local Government, Education, Mines and Minerals, Development, Labour and Manpower, WASA and others.
The Commissioner briefed the participants of the Course about the significance of strategic location of the Quetta Division besides other matters related to development, law and order situation, health, etc.
This division is blessed with immense natural resources, he pointed out. It is also important from the perspective of the business activities and the border trade.
The new opportunities of business and employment could be created by benefitting from the natural resources, he maintained.
The Commissioner said that the stringent measures were adopted for protection of life and property of the people particularly for prevention of the incidents of target killing and kidnapping for ransom. The good results of the initiatives are bearing fruits, he added.
Implementation on the National Action Plan (NAP) is being made in letter and spirit, he mentioned. While the capacity of the Levies force is being built to maintain law and order in “B†areas of the Quetta Division, the special measures have also been taken for their training in this regard.
The Levies force and other LEAs have also been equipped with the modern facilities, he said and added that they are making coordinated efforts to establish writ of law. While on the other hand, the security of zayreen (pilgrims) proceeding for pilgrimage in Iran and Iraq would also be ensured, he maintained.
