QUETTA: Vice Chancellor of Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University (SBKWU), Professor Dr. Rukhsana Jabeen has stated that women are working shoulder to shoulder with their men counterparts in different sectors, and as such their role can’t be ignored in development of the country.
This, she stated while addressing the ceremony held in connection with the Pak-Japan scholarship at the University’s campus the other day.
The Consul General of Japan based in Karachi, Akira Ouchi, honorary Consul General of Japan in Quetta, Syed Nadeem Shah were also present on the occasion.
The Vice Chancellor said that the potential of the girls is not brought before because of certain limitations and strains right from the childhood and that they are forced to adopt a careful behavior.
She said that the University is imparting quality higher education to the girl students of the province.
The Registrar of SBKWU, Dr. Anjum Parvaiz spoke on the occasion and highlighted the overall functioning of the University besides its aims and objectives as well as the academic activities. The University has performed better to best during last one decade while around 4,000 students are studying in different disciplines in the University, it was pointed out.
The training workshops are arranged for the faculty members and other staff members, it was pointed out further adding that the University is ISO certified now.
The Japanese Consul General also addressed the students.
