Pashtoon Culture Day being observed today

QUETTA: The Pashtoon Culture Day is being observed today (Wednesday) in Quetta and elsewhere in the country.
According to an official hand out issued here, the Pashtoon Culture Day would be observed in accordance with the decisions made in the International Pashto Conference organized by the Pashto Academy on September 12-14 in Quetta.
All the political and democratic parties as well as the social, literary personalities and scholars would be invited to take aprt in the Culture Day.
The Minister Information, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal appealed to all the Pashtoons living anywhere in the country and the world to wear their national dress and demonstrate their national, traditional culture and high values.
It may be mentioned here that the International Pashtoo conference held in second week of September had suggested steps for promotion of Pashto culture and literature through concerted efforts.
The observance of the Pashtoon Culture Day is part of the same initiatives suggested in this regard.
A large number of Pashtoon literary personalities, researchers and scholars had attended the conference. The delegates from USA, Canada, Italy, Afghanistan besides the Khyber Pakhtoonkhaw and other parts of the country also attended the ceremony
