Meeting reviews draft law on harassment of women at workplace

QUETTA: A meeting was held to review the draft law related to the harassment of Balochistan women at the workplace here the other day.
The Chairperson of Standing Committee of Balochistan Assembly for Social Welfare, Women Development, Zakat and Ushr, Minorities and Youth Affairs presided over the meeting. The draft law was discussed from different angles in detail.
However, it was decided to conduct another meeting in this regard on October 7, 2015 at 11;00 AM at the committee room of the provincial assembly secretariat.
The members of the committee were asked to submit their proposals in written regarding the draft law on the harassment of women at working place so as to discuss the same.
Earlier, the meeting of the Standing Committee of Balochistan Assembly for Industries, Mines, Mineral Development, Labour and Manpower has been postponed for an indefinite period.
This was announced in an official hand out issued here the other day by the Provincial Assembly’s secretariat.
The meeting was scheduled to be held on September 17, 2015 (Thursday). The hand out mentioned that the Chairman of the Standing Committee has postponed the meeting.
Earlier, the meeting of the Standing Committee of Balochistan Assembly for Public Health and Population Welfare was also postponed due to some unavoidable reasons.
