Need stressed to bring improvement in state of prisoners

QUETTA: There is a need to pay special attention towards education and health of the prisoners. This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner Sibi, Noorul Haq Kakar while talking to the Jail authorities during his visit to Sibi District Jail the other day.
He met the prisoners there and inquired about their issues. The Deputy Commissioner also had a lunch with the prisoners.
He said that the prisoners are also part of our society. He stressed the need to bring improvement in the state of prisoners. He appreciated the initiative of imparting education to the prisoners in the District Jail. It would surely help them become useful citizens of the society, he hoped.
In addition to paying attention towards education of the prisoners, there is also a dire need to focus on their health and hygiene so that they may not become ill, maintaining he stressed.
He directed to provide the necessary facilities to the prisoners according to the jail manual. He also asked to the district administration to mobilize the available resources for resolving the issues being faced by the jail.
The Deputy Commissioner on the occasion also announced to provide a television for entertainment of the prisoners.
