Development work on BRC and Polytechnic Institute Sibi in progress

QUETTA: The Balochistan Residential College and Boys Polytechnic Institute are being established in Sibi costing around Rs. 600 million.
This was informed in a meeting chaired by the Commissioner Sibi Division in Sibi.
No compromise would be made on quality and pace of the development work in the Sibi Division, asserted the Commissioner while addressing the meeting of district officers.
Deputy Commissioner Sibi, Sohailur Rehma Baloch, District Police Officer, Muhammad Anwar Khetran, Chairman District Council Sibi, Malik Qaimuddin Dhapal, Vice Chairman, Mir Muhammad Chandio, Chairman Municipal Committee Sibi, Dawood Rind, Director Development, Waqaruz Zaman Kayani, Chief Officer, Municipal Committee, Muhammad Khan Silachi, Director Local Government, Ghulam Sarwar Pindrani, Director Health Services, Dr. Nazir Khawajakhail, and other concerned.
The issues of development in Sibi were discussed during the meeting. The pace of work on the development projects was also reviewed.
The concerned officials also briefed the meeting about different projects being executed in Sibi.
The Consultant of the BRC Sibi, Muhammad Ali informed the participants about the College’s Master Plan, academic bloc, students’ hostel, playground and other facilities.
It was informed that the work on phase-I of the BRC Sibi is in progress costing Rs. 196. 168 million. Although the work is continued at a fast pace, but only Rs. 0.9 million have been allocated for the project during the current financial year, it was pointed out. This may affect the pace of vital development project, it was feared.
The Commissioner assured to take up the matter with the concerned high ups so that the delay is not occurred in completion of the development scheme related to education sector, he maintained.
The Superintending Engineer of Building and Road, Ayub Nasir briefed the meeting about the progress on the Boys Polytechnic Institute. However, the Commissioner expressed his anguish over absence of the Project Director of the Institute from meeting.
It was informed that only Rs. 0.9 million have been allocated during the financial year while the project has to be completed at the cost of Rs. 404 million.
The funds allocated for the project are inadequate, he mentioned.
The issue of funds would be taken up with the authorities concerned so that its (paucity) may not affect the pace of work, the Commissioner assured.
