QUETTA: An Eid Milan Party was arranged under the auspices of Brahvi Adabi (Literary) Society here the other day.
The overall performance and activities were discussed in the Eid get together.
The Chairman of the Brahvi Society, Abdul Qayum Baidar presented an overall overview of the Society he heads. He informed the gathering that around 110 books have so far been published by the Adabi Society while we have planned to publish 10 more books this year, he added.
These books have been published on different topics and issues, Baidar informed further.
Moreover, a Brahvi Kitab Markaz (Book Center) has also been set up under the umbrella of the Adabi Society.
Not only the books written in Brahvi language are made available in the Book Center, but those of other languages written on history, culture, literature, are also made available there
These books are accessible to the scholars as well as the students engaged in research in different subjects and topics.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chairman of Brahvi Adabi Society, Noor Khan Muhammad Hassani, who also happens to be the Member Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT), said that the Society has served the cause of promotion of Brahvi language and literature and it would continue to do so in future as well.
Professor Abdul Razzaq Sabir said that although we are satisfied with performance of the Brahvi Adabi Society, but just demand of the Society’s cabinet and members to form a committee regarding printing and publication of the Brahvi literature books.
The committee may allow publication of the books after scrutiny of the content, he suggested. This is necessary for publication of the quality Brahvi literature, he stressed.
The Regional Director Pakistan Academy of Letters Quetta, Afzal Murad also addressed the get together.
In his address, he stressed the need to hold the meetings of Brahvi Adabi Society on regular basis.
He also stressed to make the performance of the draft committee more effective.
The Joint Secretary of Brahvi Adabi Society, Anwar Zaib also called for bringing improvement in performance of the Society through regular meetings.
The former Chairman of the Society, Arif Zia and Professor Khuda Dad Gul also spoke on the occasion. They also expressed satisfaction over functioning of the Society and hoped that there would be marked improvement in its working in time to come.
In his closing remarks, the Chairman Brahvi Society assured that the cabinet as well as the executive body of the Adabi Society would be taken into confidence before each and every initiative and move.
