Ms. Saira Atta assures issues being faced by
women traders and home-based workers
to be resolved in province accordingly

QUETTA: Director General of Industries Balochistan, Ms. Saira Atta has stated that the government is mobilizing all available resources for promotion of small and cottage industries in the province.
She was addressing the ceremony of the women chamber of commerce here the other day. Also present on the occasion were the new president of the women chamber, Ms. Farzana Karim Baloch, Deputy Mayor of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC), Muhammad Younas Baloch, Aryana Khan, Naheed Khan, Ms. Shakila and other office bearers of the women chamber.
She said that the government is keen in development of cottage industry, knitting, and for the purpose, the handicraft, car painting, knitting and other small industries are being attached special attention so as to introduce the culture of the province country and world wide as well.
Ms. Saira Atta also said that government is endeavouring to facilitate the women in commerce and trade. Sincere efforts are being made to facilitate the women labour force in the province and so in the Lasbela Industrial Estate, she added.
The DG Industries said that the women traders have the platform of the women chamber of commerce to market their products besides carrying out different trade activities.
It is a matter of immense pleasure and satisfaction for her that the handicrafts and other products prepared by the women of the province are acclaimed all over the country and in the world, she commended.
She on the occasion assured that the department would do its best to resolve the issues being faced by the women traders and the house based workers.
Moreover, he mentioned that a survey has been carried out to ensure provision of necessary facilities by removing the hurdles in the way, she maintained.
The Deputy Mayor QMC, Younas Baloch also addressed the gathering.
In his address, he congratulated the newly elected office bearers of the women chamber including Ms. Farzana Karim Baloch and others.
He expressed the hope that the new office bearers would play their role in development of the province and the country.
He appreciated that the women are already playing their part in the Metropolitan Corporation and other institutions of the country.
He was of the view that the women could use their potential if they were provided necessary facilities and opportunities.
President of the women chamber, Ms. Farzana Karim Baloch, in her address, pledged to work for well- being of the women in trade.
She would do her best to resolve the issues being faced by the women traders as well as other workers in Quetta and the province.
