Secretary Agriculture for keeping strict check on sale of agri. products

QUETTA: A meeting of the Director Generals of the Agriculture Wing was held with the Secretary Agriculture, Abdul Rehman Buzdar in the chair at the Directorate General of Agriculture (Extension) the other day.
The progress report of the previous month was reviewed while the plan for next month was discussed during the meeting.
Addressing the meeting, the Secretary Agriculture strictly directed to all the concerned to ensure improvement in their performance and just not doing formality.
He also directed to conduct field days at the district level for better guidance of the growers. It would help them to get better results in production, he maintained.
The field assistants should remain present on occasion of the field days, he stressed.
He also stressed the need to keep a check on the agriculture products being sold in the market so that the quality products may be made available to the growers.
He directed to take stern action against those found involved in sale of sub-standard agriculture products. The shops of the dealers should be sealed, he directed further.
The Secretary Agriculture also stressed the need to conduct meetings of the agriculture officers and field assistants on regular basis.
The meetings should be conducted every month at the district level, he said.
It should be ensured to help the growers mobilizing all available resources, the Secretary said.
Later, it was decided that all the Director Generals would do strict monitoring of the staff in order to bring improvement in the related affairs. Moreover, it was also decided to continue all the programmes as per routine.
