Secretary’s surprise visit to Directorate:
Abdul Saboor Kakar asserts there’s no space for
careless and negligent officers and teachers
in Provincial Education Department

QUETTA: The Secretary Education, Abdul Saboor Kakar suspended Director Education (College Side), Shah Wali Kakar on his absence from duty.
The suspension of the Director College came after the Secretary Education conducted a surprise visit of the Directorate of Education the other day.
During the visit, the Secretary was also surprised over presence of some 20 professors and teachers of different colleges and schools without any justification in the Bureau of Curriculum, and thus placed them under suspension.
He also expressed his anguish over absence of the staff members of Directorate of Education and ordered to take necessary action against them.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary said that there’s no space for the careless officers and teachers in Education Department. He said that all such (careless) ones would be sacked and the competent and dutiful people would be encouraged and brought before to deliver the goods.
He said that the government has attached top priority to education in the province, and steps are being ensured on an emergent basis to achieve the priorities set in this regard.
In view of that, the teachers and all officers of the department have been issued directives to show their performance, he mentioned adding he warned, otherwise stern action would be taken against them.
He also said that the surprise visits of the educational institutions and the offices are being made from time to time to assess performance of the concerned.
This is also necessary to implement the government’s plans and other initiatives being taken for bringing improvement in education sector in the province, he maintained.
Therefore, the Secretary urged the Education officers and other concerned to play their part in ensuring quality education. This is high time for the officers and teachers to serve and show results, adding he stressed.
Meanwhile, during visit of Math Olympiad organized by Pak-Turk School here the other day, the Secretary Education said that the government is endeavoring to improve standard of education in the province.
In this regard, steps have been taken to prevent cheating and use of unfair means in the examinations, he mentioned.
