QUETTA: The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic, Hamid Shakeel Sabir has categorically stated that the Traffic police has launched crackdown against the violators of traffic rules as well as the vehicles containing the tainted glasses.
Talking to the media here, the SSP Traffic said that there’s no one above the law, and as such an indiscriminate action is being taken against those violate the traffic rules and those running vehicles with tainted glasses.
He said that the Traffic police has been discharging its duties with dedication despite the resources constraints.
It is prime responsibility of the Police to ensure smooth flow of the traffic on the city roads without any disruption, he said.
He said that the number of Traffic police personnel is least as compared to population in the provincial metropolis, which is otherwise on the rise.
He said that at least 309 Traffic personnel discharge their duties for 8-10 hours daily. The strength of the personnel would be increased up to 900 by June 2016, he informed.
He hoped that the issues of traffic would be resolved with increase in number of Traffic personnel in the city.
The SSP Traffic urged the citizens to cooperate with the Traffic police while moving on the roads in their vehicles and otherwise.
He also called on them to avoid use of mobile phones during driving as it cause traffic problems. The people should also refrain from parking their vehicles wrongly, he pleaded.
