QUETTA: The Provincial Minister for Information, Information Technology, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal has stated that the provincial government attaches special importance to the issue of water in view of its gravity in the province including Quetta.
In this regard, the planning of building several small and big dams including Halak and Mangi dams is in final stages of completion, stated Ziaratwal while addressing a reception hosted in his honour at Killi Sarkan area the other day.
The Minister Information and IT maintained that the government is giving importance to water storage from Loralai and Khuzdar in the province. The water reservoirs would be built in different parts of the province with financial assistance of the federation and the international donor agencies, he said.
The provincial government is also going to include the water storage projects in the next Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) while work would also start on at least 30 dams this year, he informed adding that the projects of health, education and other civic facilities would also be included in the PSDP.
The Minister also said that the government is committed to serve the masses and resolve the issues being faced by them. The coalition government would fulfill all the commitments it made with the people before coming into power, he pledged.
