IGP warns of stern action against police personnel with “lax” attitude towards duty

QUETTA: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ahsan Mehboob has warned of stern action against those police personnel with lax attitude.
Talking to the media after inspection of the route of procession of “Chehlum” of the martyrs of Karbala and reviewing security arrangements made, here the other day, the provincial Police chief said that all available resources are being mobilized to maintain law and order situation in the province. He said that while the necessary security arrangements have been made for safety of the procession to be taken out, stern action would be taken against those creating law and order situation or disruption of peace, he asserted.
During the visit, the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Quetta Region, Manzoor Sarwar and Deputy Inspector General of Police, Quetta, Syed Imtiaz Shah were also flanked by the IGP.
The IGP maintained that the crackdown against the criminal elements is continued and several criminals have been arrested.
However, elimination of crimes and criminal elements is not possible without the support of general public, he stressed.
Therefore, the police personnel would have to improve their attitude in order to restore public’s trust on them, he maintained.
He also asked them to avoid using mobile phone during duty hours.
The IGP announced that the complaint cells would be established at police station level where the complaints could be lodged against non-registration of the FIR by the concerned police personnel and not resolving the public grievances by them.
Moreover, adding he mentioned that the night patrolling has also been enhanced in order to prevent crime.
The citizens may contact 15 Madadgaar in case of any issue or emergency, the IGP pleaded.
It may be mentioned here that the IGP visited the Alamdar road, Marriabad, Toghi road, Hazara Town, western and eastern by-pass, besides different entry and exit points of the city.
