Accountability should starts from oneself, emphasizes Secretary Education

QUETTA: The Secretary Education, Abdul Saboor Khan Kakar has categorically stated that all segments of the society would have to play their part in elimination of menace of corruption from the society.
He was addressing a ceremony held in connection with the speech contest at the Government Degree Girls College Quetta Cantonment the other day.
The Director Colleges, Ghulam Hussain Sarparah, Director NAB, Ghulam Safdar Shah, Principal of Government Degree Girls College Quetta cantonment, Professor Ms. Shagufta Iqbal were also present.
The Secretary Education regretfully observed that although every person wants to rid the society of the menace of corruption, but no one is serious to start it from oneself. He said that the ministers and bureaucrats are not responsible for the problems only, rather everyone has to make one’s accountability and play part in purging the menace of corruption, injustices and from the society.
The Secretary maintaining praised the spirit and views of participating students against corruption and corrupt practices. It is appreciable that our youth are vigilant and have their views on the issue of corruption.
He said that the youth can change fate of the country. However, it would be unfair to speak only about disappointment. The praise of good initiatives and their mention in the speeches would also help spread the goodness in the society, he observed.
The Director NAB and Principal of the Degree Girls College also addressed the ceremony.
The Director NAB said that the menace of cancer could be eliminated through awareness campaign launched by NAB particularly among students.
He also insisted that it is not the responsibility of NAB only to eliminate corruption rather this evil could be overcome through collective efforts, he maintained.
Professor Dr. Shagufta Iqbal stressed the need to make practical efforts for prevention of corruption. She also stressed that we need to improve our acts and deeds practically in order to rid the society of the menace of corruption.
In the end, prizes were distributed among the position holder students.
