Extreme low gas pressure in midst of severe cold in Quetta denounced

QUETTA: Different religious and political parties as well as the general public circles have strongly condemned the extremely low pressure of gas while the severe cold is already taking heavy toll on the valley of Quetta.
The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Nazrayati (JUI-N), Hazara Democratic Party (HDP), the senior lawyer and former President of Supreme Court Bar Association, Ali Ahmed Kurd and others have demanded of the concerned authorities to take an immediate notice of the situation and resolve the issue, which other has made the life of the people in severe cold miserable.
The JUI-F senior leader, Senator Hafiz Hamdullah said that the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) is absolutely failed in supply of the gas with full pressure.
Talking to a delegation here the other day, he regretfully pointed out that the CNG stations are being supplied the gas, but the consumers are not getting the same for their stoves in homes while mercury dropped to freezing points.
He said that the situation has paralyzed the routine life of the people as well. He said that if the people of the province from where the gas is being produced, is tantamount to injustice with them and the province, he charged.
Hafiz Hamdullah said that it is not for the first time when the issue of low gas pressure is being faced rather it arises every year in winter. But, what’s regrettable is that the company concerned did not take it serious.
He demanded of the company to ensure supply of the gas with full pressure otherwise strong protest would be lodged.
The JUI Quetta leader, Maulana Wali Muhammad Turabi andJUI-N leader Abdul Sattar Chishti and others also criticized the SSGC for its failure in supply of the gas with pressure.
They pointed out that the due to the low gas pressure, the people are facing immense problems in severe cold.
They demanded of the government to take necessary steps for supply of gas in the city.
Similarly, the HDP has also expressed its deep concern over the low pressure as well as the break down of the gas in different parts of the city.
In a statement issued here, it was stated that certain suggestions had been made to the SSGC to resolve the issue, but to no avail, the issue is taking heavy toll even in the main city areas.
It was also asserted that strong protest would be lodged if the issue was not resolved immediately.
Moreover, the senior lawyer Ali Ahmed Kurd also criticized the SSGC and said that it’s performance is very poor as a result the people are forced to face the wreathe of the severe cold and thus register their protest against the issue.
He said that while the poor are experiencing the issue of low gas pressure and its breakdown, the ruling elite are enjoying just turning a deaf ear to the issue.
He demanded of the company concerned to resolve the issue immediately.
