QUETTA: The International anti-Corruption Day was also observed in Khuzdar and Sibi as elsewhere in the province and the country.
The day was part of the government’s initiative for creation of awareness about the corruption and its ill effects on the economy in general and society in particular.
The awareness campaign was launched against corruption in Khuzdar. Speaking on occasion of distribution of the pamphlets and placing banners in different parts of the city, the Incharge of anti-Corruption Circle Office Khuzdar, Saifullah Shahwani said that it is our collective responsibility to rid the society of menace of corruption.
He also stressed the need to make collective efforts for formation of the corruption-free society.
He said that the anti-corruption week is being observed in Khuzdar as well as elsewhere in the province to create awareness about menace of corruption.
He mentioned that various functions are being arranged at various schools and colleges of Khuzdar. He urged the ulemas and other religious leaders to play their effective role in highlighting the issues and consequences of the corruption in the world and hereafter.
Similarly, addressing a rally taken out in Sibi, the Deputy Commissioner, Noorul Haq Kakar and District Chairman, Malik Qaimuddin Dhapal termed the corruption as more than a cancer. They said that purging of corruption and bribery from our system is need of the hour.
District Police Officer Sibi, Mir Muhammad Amwar Khetran, Additional Commissioner, Azim Anjum Hanbhi, District Education Officer, Abdul Ghafoor Dashti and other senior officials from various departments as well as the elected representatives from the Municipal Committee and the students and teachers participated in the rally started from the Commissioner office and terminated back at the same venue passing through different roads of the city.
The participants were vocal against the issue of corruption. They said that the corrupt elements must be exposed in the public.
Meanwhile, the anti-Corruption Day was also celebrated in Zhob the other day. A seminar was held at the district assembly Hall with Deputy Commissioner, Nazar Muhammad Khetran in the chair.
The Chairman Municipal Committee, Abdul Saleem Mandokhail, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Revenue, Qasim Bugti, Deputy Chairman district Council, Qazi Ahmed Khosti and other senior officials and elected representatives of the Municipal Committee and district council attended the seminar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that corruption is a menace, which eats the very fabric of the institutions like termite.
He mentioned that the negligence from duties as well as misuse of power is also sort of corruption, so we should perform our duties honestly and dedicatedly.
