Delegation of women rights activists call on Speaker Provincial Assembly

QUETTA: A delegation comprising the women rights activists from different walks called on the Speaker, Balochistan Assembly, Ms. Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani in her chamber here the other day.
The prominent social and political activist and former Member of National Commission on Status of Women (NCSW) from Balochistan, Ms. Rukhsana Ahmed Ali, senior official of the Aurat Public and Information Service Foundation (APISF), Ms. Saima Haroon and others were included in the delegation.
The members of the delegation extended felicitation to Ms. Rahila Durrani on her election as the first woman Speaker of the Provincial Assembly. They said that it is a matter of pride for all the women particularly those believe in looking forward and progress in practical life.
They hoped that the working women would inspire from the achievement of Ms. Durrani and play their effective part in development of the province and the country.
The women activists also hoped that Ms. Rahila Durrani would effectively run the affairs of the Provincial Assembly in addition to raise voice for the women issues and their rights.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the Balochistan Sarafa and Jewelers Welfare Society led by its President, Ahsanullah Dotani and other office bearers also called on the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly.
They congratulated Ms. Rahila Durrani on her election as Speaker of the Assembly.
The Honorary Consul General of Japan in Quetta, Syed Nadeem Shah was also among those meeting the Speaker. Besides extending congratulation to Ms. Durrani, Syed Nadeem Shah also presented a set of the Japanese calendar to her.
He also exchanged views with the Speaker on promotion of the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Japan.
