NAB initiates action against Electricity bills defaulters

HQ : National Accountability Balochistan has started recovery process of the outstanding due of the Electricity Distribution Companies from the defaulters.
Besides other regional bureaus of NAB, a “Special Cell†has been established in Balochistan office of NAB aimed at proceed quickly against the domestic, commercial and industrial electricity bill defaulters.
A list duly verified by the Chief Executive of QESCO in this connection has been forwarded to NAB for immediate action.
The government of Pakistan through the Ministry of Water and Power has requested NAB to recover the outstanding dues of Electricity Distribution Companies from the nonpayer of electricity bills.
Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has delegated the power to all DGs to proceed under NAO against the defaulters.
As per plan of recovery, QESCO has served notices to the defaulters giving 30 days deadline. During this period, the defaulter could contact grievances committees established to coordinate between consumers who have a genuine reason as why he failed to deposit the dues.
Whereas after the passage of 30 days, case would be referred to NAB who would give 7 more days for depositing of outstanding dues. In case of non-compliance, stern action would be taken under the law.
