QUETTA Oct 31 (PPI): Human rights Ministry was taking practical measures for improving human rights in league with provinces.
This was stated by Director General Human Rights Ministry Muhammad Arshad while addressing a seminar.
Seminar was organized to stop human rights violations at provincial by Human rights to evolve legislation and policy making.
Board member SPO Zeenat Yaqoob Yusufzai, Zafar Zeeshan, Imdad Ali, Professor Rahim Changezi, and civil society representatives said that human rights violations in Balochistan were dragging the society to collapse. Ground realities should be kept in view while making laws and policy for security of human rights. Civil society should get active for the implementation of laws and expert pressure on people’s representatives and heads of government departments. They said most human rights violations are caused at police stations. Strict procedure should be adopted for change in behaviours of police officers and officials.
DG said ground realities of the province for policy making and legislation are being kept in view. Reservations expressed by civil society would also be included.
Additional IG Police Dr Mujeeb, DC Quetta Engineer Abdul Wahid Kakar, Deputy Secretary Social Welfare Salma Qureshi, Director Social Welfare Musarrat Jabeen gave resume about performance of their organizations.
It is added here that Prime Minister of Pakistan had accorded approval of saction plan for improving human rights situation on Feb 13, 2016.
